Happy Girl

Emma is pretty happy these days crawling and climbing over whatever she can. :)

This Is What Happens.....

at our house when you don't guard your drink or food.
Isn't she just the cutest dog? I just have this thing for her and am insanely over the top in love with this dog. I think I need therapy. I'm sure of it and I'm sure she needs it to.
The other night I crawled in the crate with her and Daisy to give them snuggles. I barely fit and had a quite the time getting out. It's these crazy things we do around here that keep us laughing!

Just Pictures

I didn't want to go to long without posting some pictures for people. Today when I went to get Emma up from her nap she was standing in the crib waiting for me. She is crawling and trying to climb now. It is a lot of fun to watch her grow. We have been to Mrs. C's this past week but I forgot to take pictures for everyone. While we were there we went on a long hike and ate lots of good food! She made us jalepeno poppers and fried cheese sticks. If you've never had those poppers you have got to try them! Mrs. C also got a good laugh out of me when the stroller that her youngest one and Emma was in started to roll away on me...guess I better learn to put the brake on when I look away.ha! I think Mrs. C may make a farm girl out of me yet. :) Or at least I dream more and more every time I go out there of becoming one.

I think Emma likes books. Every time I change her diaper she crawls to where her special books are and picks one out for me to read to her. We have been reading a lot these days.

Middle of the Week

Here are some middle of the week photos for all the kids out there who I know LOVE looking at Emma. :) Not much to report except that I can see her two bottom teeth. They are not quite through the gums yet. They are so cute and she is drooling a ton.
She is growing from a beautiful baby into a beautiful little girl.

Retro & Slightly Used

Yesterday I pulled out a bunch of "new" toys for Emma that she is old enough to play with now. I love having stuff stored to just pull out...no need to go to the store to buy new toys when so many people have saved things for us. Emma is having a great time checking out all the new things I brought out for her.

I had lots of blocks and shapes for her. We've been building things with the blocks but every time I get something built she likes to knock it down. The building blocks were my nieces and nephews and do you know how old the shapes are??? Oh, I'd say maybe 40+ years!

This was mine when I was little. I'm sure that my two older sisters played with it to. Emma loves it! I couldn't even get her to look up at me for a picture. She sure is having a blast with it.

God is good!

Emma in Glasses?

I was messing around with photo shop today. This isn't quite what I had in mind for the finished photo. It takes me a while to learn things so I just saved it as is and will go back and make it better later. I just had to see what Emma would look like with these cool glasses on and I love how you can change and highlight colors in photos. I know there are so many things you can do with it...now I just have to figure it all out.

A Gift from Grandma

We love getting things in the mail around here especially from grandparents. Emma got this soft, warm blanket and teddy bear with her name on it from her Grandma M. this week. She loves it!!!

Sesame Noodles with Chicken

I made sesame noodles with chicken a couple weeks ago and we loved it so much I had to make it again! It really is quite yummy. I usually just bake a couple of chicken breasts in soy sauce and lately I've been dumping brown sugar on it. I don't know why and I don't know what brown sugar does but it makes me feel good. ha. You can find the recipe here.

Cranky Tuesday

Emma woke up cranky yesterday and I'm sure I was no ray of sunshine myself. ha!
The weather was gross...no sun and we just were not able to get our "happy" groove on. When James came home from work he played and relaxed with Emma. Emma sat on his lap for a while why they listened to some music. She spread her arms out like this on her own and it was just to funny so I had to take some pictures to share.

I picked up these letters to paint and put in her room but after having them against fabric I think I want to use fabric(s) instead.
We'll see how it turns out because I have never done anything like this before. Will I end up in tears? ha!

Emma's Monday

I can't do a "craft" post and not do a Emma post. My nieces and nephews don't really care about what craft I'm working on...ha...but they do care about Emma and my dogs. :)
Emma had a good day yesterday. She went to Wal-Mart with me and then we came home and played all afternoon.

She seems to like to have these rings in her mouth and crawls around with them.

This is a fitting little shirt for her to wear.

Table Top Quilts

I finished another table top quilt...well finished what I could. My mom does the binding for me because when I attempt to do it I end up crying.
This is the back. I love this striped material.

This particular one is giving me issues. I'm not sure if I should just rip out what I have sewn and start all over on it or just let it go. Oh, I do not like ripping out and on this one I have ripped and ripped...ha.

First Easter

We had a wonderful first Easter with Emma. I had a hard time getting a picture of her this morning because she wouldn't stay still and I was a bit impatient as I was more concerned about getting a good seat in church...ha!
After church we headed out to Mr. and Mrs. C's to spend the afternoon with their family. Mrs. C made a scrumptious lunch for us to enjoy! She sure can cook!
We miss all of our family though. Emma sends hugs to her cousins and grandparents! :)

Emma and Her Dogs

Emma loves to play. What she loves more is when the dogs will play with her as you can see from the following photos.

She is getting to the point where she can grab them and pet them. I'm trying to teach her not to pull on them but to be gentle. It's a work in progress. Lily doesn't seem to mind so much as she is used to Daisy pulling on her ears constantly to play. Daisy is never sure what to think when Emma starts grabbing her. ha.

Of course Lily loves on her like crazy and wants to give her kisses.

I'm trying to teach Emma she is not a dog....as you can see, that is a work in progress to. ha!

Daisy was trying to get her hair bow. Silly dogs!

Just in case any of you are worried...no, I do not let my dogs and Emma lick each other all the time but sometimes it is funny when you are telling Emma that she isn't a dog and just keeps sticking her tongue out. Nor do I leave the dogs alone with her. I'm always right next to them when they are together. :)

On Days Like Today....

...when I wake up and the weather has done this overnight I'm thankful that I don't have to get out of bed and scrape my car off to go to work,

...I'm thankful that I have this little one around and am thankful for all of the fleece sleepers people gave her to keep her warm,

...I'm thankful that my dogs don't seem to mind the snow so much and rather like to go run around in it a little,

...I'm thankful that James adores Daisy so much that when she comes inside and her paws look like marsh mellows he takes care of them and make sure she gets warm and cozy,

...I'm thankful that although Lily is a soggy doggy when she comes in from the cold she still loves to snuggle with me,

..I'm just thankful for Lily,

...I'm thankful for food! No SURPRISE there! ha. This is a caramel chocolate chip bar. It is so good! Recipe below photo
