It's true. I'm a pinterest addict. How could you not love it besides the fact that after being on it, you realize you've sucked away two hours of your precious time just pinning away and soaking up all the ideas? A few weeks ago I decided that I need to get off of there and start creating. Not only do I have all of the ideas on there but also so many others that I have in books, magazine articles, etc.etc. that I need to get working on. I'm tired of admiring and just need to start doing.
This red riding hood cape has been on my "to do" list for quite some time. I'm pleased to say that I've finished this one for Emma and also another one for a niece. I'm making one more and then I can move onto the next thing. I will also admit to you that I don't always "pin" the lovely ideas I find. Sometimes I just don't want to share. I want people to think I've come up with these brilliant ideas on my own when I'm out and about. Instead of saying that I found it on pinterest, I can direct them to something that I think is pretty nifty like a blog that I love or I can invite them over so that I can show them how to do it....and then let them know where I found my info. Don't worry. I always give credit where credit is due.
Yes, I love pinterest. What I love more than that is friendships and learning from friends.
I love how a sister will send me a magazine article that has a neat craft or yummy recipe. She'll write a little note and say "this is so yummy!" or "this is something you could make with Emma."
I love another sister who will talk with me about refinancing my house and why I should have at least done it two or three times before now and explain to me the specifics of why...as if I could ever figure that out without pulling my hair out.
I love a friend(s) who will take the time and explain how they make kombucha and colloidal silver. They will sit down and show me everything about whatever questions I have about it. Sometimes I have a list! We'll talk about lavender, cloth diapering and gluten free cooking.
I love a friend who will tell me about raising her chickens.
I love a friend who educates me on teeth whitening and tells me my best options.
I love friends who will sit and have coffee with me, talk projects, tell me what they are baking, give me their secrets on how to do things and spend time with me throwing ideas around on all sorts of topics.
Yes pinterest. I do adore spending time with you.
The best time spent though is with family and friends who teach me most of what I know. If my time is going to be taken away, I want it to be blissfully flying by while I build relationships. Creating new things. Snuggling my babies. Cooking healthy meals for my family. Writing love letters to friends...and so much more that you can't do on pinterest.
