A Tractor Scooter

Really, I'm starting to feel old when I'm thinking about getting a tractor scooter to work in the yard! For all you out there who have chronic illnesses or just never know how you are going to feel when you wake up, well, I'm right there with you. I love working out in my yard and am having such a good time pulling weeds, planting grass and being out there with Lily. What I'm getting sick of though is every time I stand up from bending over I get dizzy and everything starts to black out on me. For a few moments I just feel so ill. Don't worry...this has been happening since I can remember but it seems to be getting more difficult for me. I think it has to do with my low blood pressure. I found this great tractor scooter that I believe will really work well for me and I'll enjoy working in the yard so much more. How we Amuse Ourselves

People often wonder how James and I manage to entertain ourselves when we tell them we have no satellite television or cable. Well, these photos below prove that we find plenty of entertainment in our home. As you can see, we have tons of fun with Lily and play with her a lot! She wouldn't know what to do if I worked outside the home. I really think she probably is the most spoiled dog in the world but I'm sure that sometimes she just wishes we would leave her alone....in cases where I'm dressing her in a baby outfit...yes, I said baby outfit. I figured if I don't have any kids to dress in cute clothes I can at least dress her. HA!

Lily just wants down.

James ordered a tool bag that came in the mail today. As soon as he unpacked it he put Lily in it and said "look, the perfect bag for Lily". It really was a great size for her but I'm not sure how thrilled she was.

In case you were wondering...yes, this is a baby outfit from Wal-Mart. All it needs is a hole cut in it for her tail. She wasn't really sure what to think when I started to put it on her...and I don't think James knew what to think either. But she was so cute in it! HA! (P.S. No, I didn't really buy this for my dog) HA!

A Painter I Am NOT......

and why I even attempted is beyond me! The white one is the before photo and the green/red is the new. I was trying to be good and not spend a lot of money and use what we had. I really like these colors on my walls in my home but on this dollhouse, well, what else can I say except for "yuck!" We are getting ready for the Herder family (my sister, hubby and their four kids) invasion in a couple weeks. So, this dollhouse is going to be set aside for a while so I can move onto other projects such as cleaning etc.. Maybe in a couple months I'll feel like attempting to paint it again and will choose yellow or pink. It would look much more cheerful!

Laughs!

This is Lily's favorite spot to stand and sit in the backyard. I call it her "lookout post." It's also her spot to go when she gets so muddy and isn't quite sure how to make it back to the house. It can be quite the funny sight.
As you can see in the photos I do have some green patches of grass. I have been working on planting more grass and everytime I plant a patch I pray over it. Ha! I know, seems kind of funny but I'm just sure that the Lord will give me a little more green grass each year if I pray.
Over the weekend I made cinnamon nut muffins. They turned out so good that I think they are my favorite so far. This week I'll be painting another bedroom and I'm hoping I can do it without falling, pulling a muscle or slamming my toes into anything! James has gotten some pretty good chuckles over my injuries lately. It's rare to have a day lately when I haven't tripped or fallen. Just ask my family about my reputation with falling down the stairs! Perhaps I need to take a class where they teach balance and how to walk. HA!

A Beautiful Day

I could not have asked for a more beautiful day here in Wyoming. The temperature was perfect and the sun was out all day. First thing I did this morning was go outside to play with Lily. I can't wait to spend more mornings and evenings out there with her.
I'm finally getting around to posting photos of the bags I've made. The lavender bag is for my mother. The pink one is the first of that style I made and has a few minor flaws I was able to fix in the lavender one. I'm very pleased at how they turned out. I'm not sure if I've got the strap to long though but I think that if a person is a bit taller such as my mother then it would be the perfect length. This bag is the perfect size to carry a book in. I often carry it to church with my Bible in it.
The last photo is one I took of Lily this morning. If you look closely at her paw, it is a little yellow. Yesterday I was finishing painting my bedroom and she decided she had to come help me. Needless to say my carpets got a good shampooing yesterday to. HA!

Lily just wanted to spend time with me. I thought I had the door shut but it wasn't latched. Of course she couldn't come in and just be good, she had to run right into my paint....and back out of it onto the carpet. She can be so naughty sometimes. :)

Finished Projects

I'm happy to say that I'm able to cross two things off my "to do" list. I have had my eyes on these curtains at Wal-Mart all winter long just waiting for them to go on sale. They finally went on clearance but only had the bottoms left. I ended up making the top from two of the bottoms and had to hem the lower cafe curtains as they were to long. I really do not like sewing. Some people find it so relaxing but I just find it irritating and really don't have the patience. But I did it! Aren't you proud? Now I can't say that I did them the "correct" way but they look good, so does it matter? :)
On another note, I'm posting a picture of my complete closet. It looks so fresh and organized! I'm very happy with it. Not bad for only spending $120.00 on it.

To All MY Little Girls Out There

This is for my niece and all her friends (they know who they are) :)
You all know your aunt Theresa is soo cool!

Mocha Muffins

I've been working on my baking skills lately. This is the third batch of muffins I've made the past three weeks. I think they turned out looking great and tasting awesome! I've also been trying out plenty of new recipes. It really gets dull and boring making the same things all the time. http://www.cooks.com/rec/view/0,174,147169-239207,00.html
This is the recipe for the muffins that I used. In other news, James got our closet all done so I've spent the day organizing and putting everything away. I have to tell you though, that I didn't get rid of much. Who else out there has clothes in just about every size possible? So, I did my best to organize by size. Knowing me I'll be a different size every year so I may as well keep everything that still looks good and not worn.

Mello Yellow

This morning I started to paint one of my back bedrooms. I chose Mello Yellow for the color. As I was painting I was making a list of all the things I loved that are yellow..
1) The Sun
2) Mountain Dew
3)Butter
4)Corn
5) Mustard
6) Bees
7) Daffodils (I know they are a weed but who doesn't love rubbing them against the skin to make it yellow or saying "mama had a baby and her head popped off" HA!
Both my sisters have yellow rooms in their homes. This reminds me of them and brings a part of their homes into mine. It is so cheerful. If you have a dull, boring room that you'd like to paint, consider Yellow. There are so many shades to choose from!

A New Closet

Today James started putting together our new closet. I'm very excited to go through all my stuff and get organized. It's not the most fancy of closet but I think it will work perfectly for us....after all, it's only a place to store our clothes.

I just thought I would put some photos up of the piles I've got around the house of all the things that go in my closet. For those of you that have piles around your house, these will make you feel really good! It is a mess but I guess sometimes it has to get messier before the end of a project like this.

My dad used to always tell me to get my clothes picked up off the floor but I don't have to worry about that anymore now that I have my own house! :)

I'm going to have to go through my tubs and see what fits and what doesn't. Maybe do a little cleaning and sorting out.

A Package for Aunt Theresa

My sister sent me a package a couple weeks ago. I was able to pick it up at the post office after waiting a week for a blizzard to end. I was so excited to go get it and had waited so long! I picked it up just in time as the next day another blizzard came in. My sister and her kids spoil me. I have been busy sewing kitchen curtains, painting and other various projects around the house. My house is a mess right now. I'm currently having to pull everything out of our closet so that we can put new shelving in. What is in there now collapsed in November...guess it was time to spend the money so that I would have someplace to put my clothes besides the floor ! Ha ! I'll have to post photos of my projects soon!

They always include peanut butter pretzels from Trader Joes. I could live off these things and they only last about two days before I have them eaten up. Now I'm working on eating up the granola she sent me. She makes the best homemade granola in the world!

Some of the things that they included in the package. There was a lot for my kitchen and I love the cleaning gloves that are so pretty! She got those at my favorite store, Target.

She is good at stuffing the box full! A lot of it was wrapped in green tissue paper so I would have fun opening it. What a good time it came while I was stuck inside for so long.

My box before I took it all out. I love the articles and magazines she sends.
