Stocking Cap

Poor Emma has to be my model for everything even when things don't really fit her.
I just love this stocking cap.  The first one I made didn't turn out so well but I finally got it right on the second one.
I think every little boy needs a stocking cap to keep their head nice and toasty during the winter.  :)

Update in Photos

My niece reminded me today that I needed to get some updated pictures on here for her.  I love my niece.  I know pictures is all she cares about.  Sorry I don't have any of the dogs.  I'll take some this week and get them up for you.

Flashback Friday On A Saturday

This is one of my favorite pictures from when I was younger and one of my favorite times I remember.
It was an awesome birthday party for me given by my great-aunt.  It was a hat party.  She also got me a Winnie the Pooh cake from the bakery downtown.  I remember it was so yummy.  Oh, and Mr. Magic also came and entertained us.  It was a great time...at least I thought so!  :)

Pretty In Lavender

Emma's lavender poncho and hat have been finished!
Instead of making her a costume this year, I decided to spend my time making a hat and poncho since she is really still to small to care about dressing up yet.
I think she just looks "snazzy" in them.
I'm pretty pleased with how they turned out.  The poncho is big enough for her to wear for a while.

Flashback Friday

We had such a sweet, little, first home.
I have been thinking about it a lot this fall as James keeps reminding me that we'll be married twelve years in December.
It doesn't seem that long ago that he was scraping the old paint off the siding and painting it this beautiful blue for me.
Now, every time I see a house in the same color I just fall in love with it...no matter where it is or what style.  It always reminds me of the sweet times I had in this house.
Even though I did get in a fight with the neighbors once and the police and James had to tell me to go inside.  ha!  But we won't talk about that.  Not one of my most bright or proud moments.

I didn't think James was ever going to finish the work on this home.  When he finally did it was time to buy land and build one.  Whew!   What a lot of work!
When we go back home we always drive past.  It seems a bit lonely now that we're gone & the people don't seem to take as well care of it as we would have.
It was so close to our families, Arbys and town.  :)  What a blessing that God gave us such a lovely first home to have wonderful memories in.

Something New Each Day

One of the great things I enjoy as a mom is watching Emma do new things.  Each morning I wonder what she'll do during the day that will amuse me.
It is exciting to watch her grow.
This week she began dumping all her toys out of her basket and then climbs in to play.

She just loves hanging out in the basket.

Emma loves when James gets home from work.  She grabs right on to his pants making it difficult for him to walk.  He wrapped her up in a blanket to snuggle her yesterday and she just loved it.  She had no interest in being put down.

Today we spent time playing outside.  I wonder how much longer this warm weather we're having will last.  I keep thinking it's still August, not October.

She has been sticking her tongue out all day.  I tell her it's going to fall off if she doesn't stick it back in....ha ha!  She just laughs at me.  :)

I have so many things I would like to write about on this blog but I'm not good with my words. Some just seem to personnel to blog.  Thank goodness for the journals we can still hand write in.  :)
Here are a few items that just don't seem to make it to this blog very often but I'm going to work on adding my thoughts on them more.
-Adoption
-Infertility
-Endometriosis
-Living with chronic pain
-How to get through the day being tired
-Friendships
-Relationships with husbands

Fluffy Hair

Almost every evening I love brushing through Emma's fluffy, bouncy, silky hair.
Sometimes her hair is so out of control that it gives us a good laugh.
I enjoy this time every night.  It gives us a time to chit chat and reflect on the day.

A Dog, a Special Visit & A Girl

I'm just sure if I put a picture up of Daisy my mom will change her mind about getting a sweet dog.
I've tried everything to convince her.
I have even told her I would potty train it for her.
What else can I do?
She just is not going for it....yet!
Someday though, I just know she is going to change her mind.

Emma has a special visitor for a couple of weeks.  Her cousin, Flat K, has come all the way from Florida.
Yesterday we took them for a ride in her wagon.

Flat K checking out Bunnylicous

Lastly, a picture of my sweet girl for the family.  :)

Loving Fall

I love fall!
Emma and I found a special place where there are lots of leaves on the ground to play in.
We love playing in the leaves...she likes to try to eat them to.
Last week she went for her one year checkup.  She weighs 19.5 lbs and only screeched a little when nurse Haley gave her a shot!  It didn't take her long to be happy once again.
She is getting pretty good at walking but still finds it easier to crawl at times.
She has two bottom teeth and there are two that are coming through on top.

She sits in her highchair now and will try to color with a crayon a little bit each day.
Sometimes she just plays with the crayon but she is slowly learning how to hold it (and not put it in her mouth).

She is my sweetheart...my Emma.  :)
