Time Well Spent

A few weeks ago we traveled a  to visit family.  This was the first time that most our family and friends were meeting Peter.
My niece was quite smitten with him and spent lots of time snuggling him.
He loves her so!

I spent some time with my niece working on crocheting stars.  She is eight and can already move her hands pretty quick.  I didn't start crocheting until I was twelve.  I'm pretty sure she will be way faster than me with her hook!

The Big Comb

A couple of years ago my sister got Emma this big comb because she really has more hair than anyone in our family.  I think she found it in the dollar section when they were selling clown items.  It is one of her favorite things to carry around.  She loves combing her hair with it and she has a tiny little mirror that she looks into.
One thing is for sure...it won't be easily lost!

She takes care of Peter's hair to.

Love this little girl!

Emma Reads To Peter

Emma always has to be next to Peter taking care of him...being his second mother.  Typical first born.  ha ha !  I can say that because I'm the baby in the family.
She loves to read to him and I love listening to her tell him stories.
She is very expressive when she reads to him.  Lily and Daisy are never to far from them.  They love to listen to her to.

Keeping My 3 Year Old Happy

Emma loves to make a mess.  Is there a three year old out there who doesn't take delight in spilling water, dumping beads, coloring on the walls or rubbing paint all over?
Oh wait, I think there may be one little boy I know who doesn't like a mess on his hands.

Emma loves playdough.
I'm thankful for my fake wood floors James put in a couple
years ago because the clean up is so easy.  I don't think she'd ever get to play with it if we had carpet.

Here is another activity that kept her occupied one afternoon.  She loved smashing the baked cotton balls.  Here is the link to the idea http://makingboysmen.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/bashing-baked-cotton-balls-goggles.html

Emma In The Kitchen With Mama

Emma loves to be in the kitchen helping me.  She unloads the dishwasher for me every day.   What she can't reach to put away she puts on the counter.

Last week we started our holiday baking.  We make as many cookies as we can to freeze.  It's great to  have something to just pull out of the freezer to serve or to take with us to wherever we may go.
 Emma helps with the sprinkles.

After all her work she had to have a cookie.  She decided that she didn't have enough sprinkles on it.  Her cookie got hidden.  :)

Emma's favorite thing to eat for breakfast are eggs.  She insists on helping so I've started letting her crack the eggs.  I do try to get the shells out after.

I let her stir them a little before she gets down.

Here is a cozy picture of Peter.
