Our Weekend

We have had an enjoyable weekend. Yesterday James had some drywall work to do at our friend's home so Emma and I tagged along to hang out with Mrs. H. We drank diet coke and made the guys dinner...well, Mrs. H made dinner while I sat and chit chatted with her. It was the best meal I've had in a long time. She made us fried chicken, gluten free pasta with garlic and butter, and vegetables cooked in butter...it was so good I told her we'd be over every night for dinner! ha. They are such a sweet couple to James, Emma and me and sure do treat us good.
Today James got up to go to the 8:00 am service at church. Anyone that knows me knows that I don't do very well early in the morning so he went without us. When he came home he was exhausted so I'm sure next week we go back to the 10:45 service...thank goodness. The only time I get out of bed that early is to go shopping. ha! Today I spent time in the kitchen making James granola bars and chocolate chip muffins for the week. YUMMY! I've also been sewing and finishing up some crocheting projects. James put a shelf up for me today...pictures to come tomorrow.

Mr. H got out this dog that laughs and rolls at the same time for Emma to watch. It was great. Video of this will be posted tomorrow. :)

Emma wasn't to sure what to think of this laughing dog but it sure kept her attention for quite a while.

Emma 5 months

Emma is just over 5 months now. She sure is a doll. She is getting becoming quite the character and sure does give us a lot of laughs.

The picture below is for my mother. Mom, I've used up all that calming lotion that you sent with me on my face...I'm still totally broke out. I can't wait until summer when my face looks normal again...ha!

Emma gives a shout out to all her cousins in Michigan, Georgia and Florida!

Business in the FRONT...

PARTY IN THE BACK!

My poor Emma! Just think of the cool costumes I'm going to have for her to dress up in when she gets older. Ha!

Daisy the dirty dog and Emma

My niece told me she couldn't imagine my dogs getting muddy so last week when it warmed up I tried my best to get a shot of them. Do you know how hard it is to get a picture of a moving dog? I finally was able to get this one. This is Daisy. She and Lily love to go out and run around in the mud...then I get the joy of cleaning them up after. Some days we do this five or six times. :) It's just a part of our daily routine around here.

Emma sticks her tongue out all the time now. It's so cute. I have a hard time not playing with it. :)

Emma can sit up a little more each day. She can get easily frustrated though so she doesn't spend to much time this way. It's a lot of work for her.

Thanks for the wig...

Emma, Lily and Daisy want to thank their cousins for sending this AWESOME wig! That's right...it fits all three of them.
Lily was not to thrilled to have it on and wouldn't give me a good picture but I finally just got her to lay still to get one. Can you tell she has an "attitude" in this picture?

Daisy

After I had it on Lily and Daisy I knew it would fit perfectly on Emma. ha! I sure did get a lot of afternoon laughs!

James playing with Emma

Emma is getting pretty patient with me while I play with her hair and put all sorts of bows and hair accessories in it.

Come on Over....

if you are HUNGRY but not if you are trying to lose a pound or two. :)
Today I found this recipe at http://www.cooks.com/rec/doc/0,164,146191-232197,00.html
I had extra cream cheese in the fridge that I really wanted to use before it went bad. I wasn't sure how having it in the middle of a chocolate chip muffin would taste....let me just say "YUMMY!"

Emma and new Things

This is a Baby Einstein exersaucer that we received in the mail yesterday from a relative who was so sweet to order it for her. She spent about two hours playing in it today and just loves it! How my mother ever managed with me when I was little without all these cool baby toys is beyond me. When they are happy in these things you can get so much done.
This is the first time Emma has sat all by herself. She didn't make it long but long enough for me to back away and take a picture. :)

Friday wtih Emma

Emma is loving her tummy time.

Today I put her hair up in this spiked pony tail. Ha! She didn't fuss at all while I put it in.

Today was the first day that Emma really enjoyed being in her bouncy seat. She played in it for almost an hour before she got tired of it.

Emma after her bath tonight. Lily likes to watch over her but I'm beginning to think that Lily just has to be in the picture. I can never get Daisy to go up there and sit to.

Emma Sleeps

Emma is just so cute when she sleeps. I'm lucky I don't wake her up because you can only imagine how many shots I take while she is zonked out. I love that her bottom lip is sticking out just a bit. Eventually I'm sure I'll have to tell her to "turn that frown upside down" ha! Most of the time she sleeps with her hands up over her head or behind her head like in these photos.

Emma's first Pigtails

Emma says "Please do something with my hair!"

Emma loves having pigtails! Or at least I think she does...since she doesn't really get a say. ha! She didn't even cry when I put them in. :)

This afternoon I ordered Emma a beautiful doll. I found this website about a year ago and have wanted to order one since.
You can check out their dolls at
www.babybeblesseddolls.com
Her name and a special verse will be written on the doll. I wanted her to have something in the future that was special and that had a Bible verse to always remind her of Gods unconditional love. I also want her to memorize as much scripture as she can and once she can read she will still be playing with this doll. This is a wonderful organization and I just love the things they are involved in.
The verse that will be on her doll is -

"The Lord your God is with you,
He is mighty to save,
He will take great delight in you,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing."
Zephaniah 3:17

It was very hard to decide on the Bible verse. She will have many questions in the future as do all children. No matter what the answers to those questions are she will always know that she is her
"Father's" daughter and He rejoices in her and will never leave her! This verse will remind her of that.
