December 30th

James had to do some shoveling in the back yard today where the snow drifts go over the fence. Lily loves this time of year when she can escape and go exploring. If you look close you can see her little head next to James in the above picture.

You can see Lily's footprints past the fence where she escaped yesterday. Now that she is older she doesn't go far and we don't have to chase after her for very long. Daisy wasn't brave enough to venture out with her.

"Please, someone let me out of this mad house!" ha!

Emma loves her new baby doll.

Lily likes to be close to Emma.

Faces of Emma

Emma's hair is so curly after her bath. She had her four month check up yesterday and weighs 12 lbs 12 oz and is 23 1/2 " long. We had some good laughs at the doctors yesterday as she has quite the personality. I was holding her down for her shot thinking she would really try to fight and start to scream her head off. The nurse gave her the shot and I didn't even realize. Emma just was looking around the room. She didn't even make a sound. My mother informed me that I was a cry baby...thanks mom! :) By the way, I still want to cry when I get shots but figured as long as I don't cry when she gets them I'm doing okay.

This is one of the funniest faces she makes. It really makes me laugh!

She is getting stronger and is able to hold her head up longer every day.

Johnny Jump Up

Emma isn't quite sure what to think when she first gets in the Johnny Jump Up...

"Hey, what is going on here?"

"Please tell me what I'm suppose to do in this thing."

"I'm getting the hang of it."

"I've got it."

"Of course Lily is around whenever I need help."

Emma is really getting the hang of this. She gets stronger every day. I don't know why they call this contraption "johnny jump up." I just end up singing the Irish song that goes...
Twas about 12 oclock and the beer was high
When the corpse he sits up and says with a sigh,
"I can't get to heaven, they won't let me up,
til I bring them a quart of that Johnny Jump Up."
Oh never, no never, no never again
If I live to be a hundred or a hundred and ten
I fell to the ground and I couldn't get up
After drinking a quart of the Johnny Jump Up.

Merry Christmas

Emma opened a couple of presents today with a little help. :) I'll admit that there are still a few gifts for her to open under the tree. I figured it would give us something to do tomorrow.

A teddy bear from her Great Grandma and Grandpa

She is working really hard at getting this open...looks like Lily wants to help.

Yeah! A new book that she is really into. Have you noticed that Lily and Daisy always have to be right there someplace in the picture next to her. On another note my mom told me today they went for a walk outside where it was 80 degrees. It's only a "little" chilly where we are at. :) ha!

Playing

I have only referred myself to Emma as "Aunt Theresa" a few times. I gave my mom a good laugh doing it in Florida...not realizing what I had done. It is hard when I have been Aunt Theresa for over thirteen years now. :)

Lily loves to sit next to Emma like a big sister. Emma is so lucky though that Lily can't boss her around like a big sister can....ha ha! I'm to funny!

We haven't forgotten Lily and Daisy

Just in case anyone was worried that Daisy and Lily were being ignored...I can assure you they aren't. :)

Headbands

I never think headbands look cute on babies and always thought I would never put one on my little girl but my mother-in-law gave me these little lacy ones with very small bows. I think Emma may be able to pull them off since she has hair. The bow is small to which I like
because I still will never put one on her with those huge ones you see on little girls.

First Week Home

Emma went to the doctors today and weighs just over 12 lbs.
Her first week with us home and she has been to Sunday school and church.
She is rolling over more although still prefers spending time on her back rather then her tummy. She is very strong and likes to sit up with help.

Emma loves to sit up with help.

First Day at Home

Emma, Lily and Daisy love sitting with James

We are slowly getting Daisy and Lily used to Emma and vice versa.

Emma's first visitors were some friends from church. This little boy loves Daisy. She is just the right size for him.
