Tuesday

Yesterday Emma and I went to Mrs. C's place. This is Mrs. C's newest addition to their family. Next time I'll try to get a better picture for my niece of the both of them. She has been patiently waiting to see him. :)

I can't decide which picture is better so I'm just leaving them both in. On our way home last night the air was nice and crisp and when we got to the top of the hills we could see the mountains and the clouds were so low. It gave me an eerie feeling. Emma and I sat there for a few minutes to look at the beautiful scenery. As you can see from the picture of the road we were on we were not holding up traffic. ha! Next time hopefully I can get some better pictures.
It was fitting that I put on some Celtic music while we were sitting there and on our way home. It was perfect music for the view, weather and the silence.

Poor Emma was pretty tired before we left last night. You can tell by how tired her eyes look in the below photo.

Emma's Hair

Emma got a bath tonight and every time I give her one she seems to have more and more hair. This will not be the last post regarding her hair....as I'm sure there will be many more. The Lord sure did bless her with beautiful hair. I'm pretty sure she has more hair already at seven months then me.
I'm going to have to learn how to do hair...ha!

The above photo is for my mother. Emma was putting her fingers in her mouth (excuse the spit up on her CLEAN pajamas which I wiped up after the picture).
No, I do not try to get her not to suck her fingers and you ask why??? Well....because I did and I would like to think that I didn't turn out so badly. Or did I?

Her hair sure does curl up after a bath. When I comb it though it runs down her back.

Jame's projects and a Few Other Things

The men in our families always want to know what James is working on. I went out to his shop (our garage where my car will never get to park...ha) to get a few photos of the cabinets he is building to put all his stuff in. He is getting quite the collection of tools so it is nice that he is FINALLY getting organized. I won't tell you how many years I've been waiting for this....well, not to many but enough. ha.
He has these that he hung on the wall and then will be building some for below them. More pictures will be coming as he makes progress. :)
Oh, and I was proud a few weeks ago when he filled up his trailer with trash!

Of course I couldn't have a post without a picture of Lily and Daisy. Daisy gets kind of freaked out by the flash on my camera so she was trying to hide last night when I took this and Lily was zonked out by Jame's feet. It is her favorite spot when he is home.

Some days I'm not sure what to do with all of Emma's hair. HA! It is all over the place but sure is beautiful. Sometimes I tell her she has Tina Turner hair....ha!

Pictures of Emma

I told my niece today that I would put lots of pictures up of Emma tonight for her to look at. Enjoy! Love you!

The below picture is what her hair looks like when she wakes up from a nap. :)

Our Day

This morning Emma woke up and she decided all of a sudden that she would rather play with Lily and Daisy's ball then her own toys. Well, that didn't last long since I took it away from her and told her to play with her own toys. In the photo below she is playing with one of my baby toys. I love it and when it shakes it sounds just like a wind chime.

Then James took us for a walk. It was a beautiful day. The air was nice and crisp and we had a beautiful view of the mountains. They are behind James in the picture but don't turn out very visible in pictures.

After our walk we came home. Emma was tired after playing all morning so I put her down for a nap. After a while I went in to take her picture. This is how she falls asleep lately. I'm not sure how she can be comfortable. Ha! After I looked at the picture I realized she was in a puddle (look at the wet sheet). Oh, I was disgusted. I've never had such a leaky diaper and she hadn't had it on for very long. I haven't even had a real leak with my cloth diapers. I won't tell you the brand but it's not a Wal-Mart or Target diaper. It's one of the more expensive kind.

So I woke her up from her nap, took the sheets off and gave her a nice bath. Well, I won't be putting her in those diapers to much anymore. ha!
We got nice and clean and headed for church.

And that has been our day. Now we are home and Emma is zonked out for the night and Lily and Daisy have taken over my lap. :)
By the way....if your dogs are smart they'll find a way through the gate and into a dirty diaper which can be a lot of fun to come home to. ha! I know it sounds gross but that is just life around here so we just take it as it comes and deal. I've now learned to take the dirty diapers right to the garbage outside.

Chicken Curry

Before we moved out west I used to make this. Really. Don't believe me...just ask my family. ha!
Don't get me wrong. I do still make the occasional hamburger/tuna helper.

BUT NOW

I'm making things like this. I got this recipe from www.thepioneerwomancooks.com
This is chicken curry which I never thought I would ever make. I've been trying to mix our menu up a bit here.
It tasted pretty good but it does smell up the house which if you aren't used to can be pretty strong. I also learned that it turns everything yellow! ha!
This isn't a bad recipe. I think I'll incorporate it in maybe once or twice a year but to be honest I still prefer steak, mashed potatoes, turkey, stuffing, mac & cheese etc. etc.

Sunday

Emma turns seven months today. She is standing on her own and I think she would just like to skip the crawling stage and go right to walking.

Lily and Daisy fight over my lap....ha. I just think they have the prettiest teeth.

These are my two crazy dogs. I just love them so much! They always want to be the center of attention but are learning that they have to share with Emma. Oh, when I say that I don't mean they have to share their toys, food etc. but our laps! ha!

I'm not sure I spoil Daisy and Lily enough. It's wonderful to walk in the house from being gone and the noises that come out of them...they get so excited to see us!

Yesterday Lily and Daisy were outside playing for quite a while. I went to let them in and Daisy was no where to be found. I went out the front because I knew she would come to me when called....and what do you think I saw? Two little boys walking down the road with this snowball just walking along beside them.
She just has to be where all the action is. I still am not sure how she managed to get out. She must have squeezed under the fence someplace.

Did I mention that Emma was seven months today. Her hair gets more curly and long everyday.
Isn't she a doll....reminds me of our Sasha dolls we used to play with when we were little.

Pizza

We love pizza but I get tired of making the same old kind. I was looking around for some ideas last night and found this recipe. While my pizza is not this exact recipe this is where the idea came from. http:// thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2010/03/caramelized-onion-prosciutto-pizza/
I get a lot of recipes from the Pioneer Woman. A lot of times I don't have the exact ingredients but I always manage to make it yummy.
So here is what is on my pizza...
onions carmalized in brown sugar - I love how this made the pizza sweet
mozarella and colby cheese - I did not have enough to do the whole thing in mozarella so I added the colby cheese
parmesean cheese
a bit of salt
cooked sausage
black olives

I used my own recipe for the pizza crust. I baked the crust at 350 for 5 minutes before adding everything...then plopped it back in the oven for another 15.

Favorite Pictures of the Week

These are just some of my favorite pictures I've taken this week that I thought the family may enjoy.

Emma loves the quilt that Heather made her.

I think Emma is saying "hey, someone get me out of here!" ha!

Just to let my 13 year old niece (almost 14 now) know why Emma's sleeves are sometimes rolled up. The girl notices the goofy things her aunt does at times...ha! I roll the sleeves up because she sucks on them and they get all soggy and I find it sooooo gross. This way, they aren't so easy for her to get to...ha!

Emma thinks she is ready to sit in a regular size chair at the table with us...not quite yet. :)

Emma just hanging out. No, I didn't put her in this position. She does it all on her own. :)

A Sunny St. Patrick's Day

I realize this post should have some green in it but since it was a beautiful day here I'm posting these pictures instead. We were able to go for our first walk of the year around the neighborhood. I love this stroller my friend found for me last summer at the consignment shop in town. It's great for dirt country.
