Body Butter

Last year I started to make my own lotion.

I have been trying to get away from as much petroleum products and other unnatural products as possible.  This is quite difficult so every month or so I try to implement something new into our lifestyle.  This helps me slowly get new things into our routine.  It takes time and work but I think Emma's fertility and our health are worth the extra effort.

Here is a great recipe for Body Butter that I started making this week.  It seems to work really well on areas where my eczema is broke out.  Thanks to Sarah over at Steeped for sharing this recipe and other ideas.  http://steepedbysarah.blogspot.com/search/label/Body%20Care

1/4 Cup of grated or chopped cocoa butter
1 tbsp of coconut or palm oil
2 tbsp of olive oil
1 tbsp of avocado or sunflower oil
1 tbsp of grated beeswax

Combine all ingredients in saucepan and warm on stove until they just begin to melt.
Remove from heat and still til well blended.
Pour into jars and let cool before covering.

I buy a lot of my ingredients from Mountain Rose Herbs.  http://www.mountainroseherbs.com/
