Tasty toes

Emma loves playing with her feet. She is bound and determined to get those feet into her mouth so she can nibble on them.

"mom, check this out...I've got my feet"

"next I have to get my mouth open wide enough to fit one of them in."

"I'm trying so hard I just can't quite get this tasty toe in my mouth! Help me mommy."

"I'm starting to get tired and this dog is ruining my concentration."

"just want to send my cousins in Georgia, Florida and Michigan a nice slobbery wet KISS!"

Just Random Thoughts

Daisy and Lily are the sweetest two little dogs. The other night I found a picture in a magazine of a cute little puppy. I took it to James and informed him that I think we needed a third dog. Let me just say he only gave me a look and the word "no" or "don't you think you have enough dogs" ever came out of his mouth...like he would tell me "no" in the first place. He did however ask me if I knew what kind of dog it was that was in the picture. ha!
Daisy needs her bangs trimmed because I can no longer see her pretty little eyes. As soon as I put Emma down for a nap these two jump right on my lap for snuggles.

A couple of my wonderful girlfriends threw me a marvelous church shower on Saturday (more pictures to come). I just had to put this one up to give you a laugh! Theresa needs some fashion help. I do not like to see people with their pant legs past their shoes so that they are dragging through the mud, rain or on the ground period. I think its gross. BUT..please, please, I really need to remind myself that once I get inside to roll the pant legs down and I know I forget to do this all the time. I can only be thankful that I have on dark brown socks and not white. Lets not even discuss the terrors of the rest of my outfit.

This little girl has the cutest outfits. Look at the little dog on her shirt...it's to cute! She thinks she is a dog....lately when she sees Lily and Daisy she loves sticking out her tongue to give them kisses.

Later in the Week

I'm a bit behind as our computer was pretty slow the whole weekend. If you know me I'm a "slow" person but when it comes to my computer I like to be able to do things quickly. :)

James and Emma play when he gets home from work.

On Friday James went back to Mr. and Mrs. H's to finish the job he was working on for them. Emma and I went later in the afternoon for a visit. We always love going to visit them. They give Emma lots of attention and always have a diet coke on hand for me. She made us a yummy dinner once again and I'm thinking that we may become regular "guests" to their home. :) Anyone that knows me knows that I love, love, love food! It's what I dream about, it's what I think about, it's what I crave all the time. ha!

Mrs. H and Emma

Emma after her bath on Saturday morning. She loves sucking her fingers just like I used to do. Now if only I knew where my mom hid my baby blanket so she could use that to....mom do you still have that? We really need to get that out of hiding...or did you throw it away? :( Oh, that blanket had a silky edge that made finger sucking so wonderfully delicious!

Middle of the Week Projects

Emma this morning zonked out for her nap. I just love her little hands. :)

Yesterday I made Indian Flat bread. The first time I tried these was at my sisters house when I was home for a visit. I fell in love with them. Usually I make this in the summer but it was warm and sunny here yesterday so I thought a little summery treat was just what we needed. These can be eaten plain (yes they are that good) or loaded with veggies, deli meats, cheeses etc. It is hard not to have to many in one sitting. Here is the link to the recipe. They do take time and practice to make but are so worth it.

The flat bread on a sheet ready for the second rise. I'm so thankful for my Bosch Universal mixer! It makes every job so much easier and faster.

I also made my first batch of homemade laundry detergent. It is so simple! You can find the recipe I used at this website.

Here is another recipe from one of my other favorite blogs that is similar to the one above.

You are asking...what does Emma do while I'm doing these projects??? Here are a couple of pictures of her. She plays really well as she watches me and we talk, sing songs and I tell her all about the things I'm making...ha...poor girl has to listen to me talk a lot!

Just More of Emma :)

When James gets home from work Emma is happy to sit on his lap for quite a while. This is last night.

The shelf that James put up for me over the weekend...now if my mother were here to use her skills to decorate it. I just keep looking at it wondering how to arrange things. Mom, are you reading this??? We better get your ticket soon so you can work on more projects for me. :)

I finally finished this hat for Emma. It is a bit to big right now but will be perfect for the next couple years for her to wear.

Here is the video of Emma watching the laughing dog. I love it! I wish my dogs could roll and laugh like this.

Our Weekend

We have had an enjoyable weekend. Yesterday James had some drywall work to do at our friend's home so Emma and I tagged along to hang out with Mrs. H. We drank diet coke and made the guys dinner...well, Mrs. H made dinner while I sat and chit chatted with her. It was the best meal I've had in a long time. She made us fried chicken, gluten free pasta with garlic and butter, and vegetables cooked in butter...it was so good I told her we'd be over every night for dinner! ha. They are such a sweet couple to James, Emma and me and sure do treat us good.
Today James got up to go to the 8:00 am service at church. Anyone that knows me knows that I don't do very well early in the morning so he went without us. When he came home he was exhausted so I'm sure next week we go back to the 10:45 service...thank goodness. The only time I get out of bed that early is to go shopping. ha! Today I spent time in the kitchen making James granola bars and chocolate chip muffins for the week. YUMMY! I've also been sewing and finishing up some crocheting projects. James put a shelf up for me today...pictures to come tomorrow.

Mr. H got out this dog that laughs and rolls at the same time for Emma to watch. It was great. Video of this will be posted tomorrow. :)

Emma wasn't to sure what to think of this laughing dog but it sure kept her attention for quite a while.

Emma 5 months

Emma is just over 5 months now. She sure is a doll. She is getting becoming quite the character and sure does give us a lot of laughs.

The picture below is for my mother. Mom, I've used up all that calming lotion that you sent with me on my face...I'm still totally broke out. I can't wait until summer when my face looks normal again...ha!

Emma gives a shout out to all her cousins in Michigan, Georgia and Florida!
